P.E. Syllabus
Pre-Kindergarten through Second Grade
In Pre K - Second Grade P.E. the stress
is on the
use of physical
activity as a developmental medium
in which the primary
goal is not the activity itself
but rather
achieving personal potential through the
activity. The students are taught their bodies are
important; and that
they use their bodies to serve
God and
others for their life time.
P.E. for these grades includes a curriculum that
covers fundamental
skills, sport skills, games,
rhythms, gymnastic
and individual/group activities.
Emphasis is placed on developing a broad
foundation of:
1) Locomotor skills - walking, jumping, hopping,
skipping, leaping, sliding,
galloping, and running.
2) Non motor
skills - bending, stretching, pulling,
pushing, balancing, rolling,
curling, twisting, turning,
and bouncing.
3) Manipulative
skills - throwing, striking, kicking
and catching.)
