The Accountability
Binder will be used as a Homework Folder AND a Friday Folder. Inside
the folder there is a Send Back pocket that will help the teacher/student
communicate with the parents the child’s progress with fourth grade
accountability challenges. Please look at this pocket every day,
encourage your child,
and send back
papers that require a parent response.. Also check to see if we are sending home any papers
that need correction and/or a parent signature. There should be a due date on these
papers. There is a Keep at
Home pocket intended for communicating
information about meetings, field trips, etc., any day of the week but more
frequently on Fridays. There
is also a Special pocket for your child

On Fridays
this same binder will
come home with lunch order forms, notes and checked papers. All graded papers may stay at home except for
those that need a signature. A parent’s signature is required
on any papers that
have a score of C or below before the folder is
returned to school on Monday.
· Students may highlight lesson plans copied from the internet and write additional homework on those plans in lieu of a homework journal.

The lesson plans will be taken home
each day in the Accountability Binder.
It must be initialed by the parent Monday –Thursday and returned the
next day.
·
No Friday Homework Journal signatures are required. The new lesson plans
will serve in this capacity.
· Bible Memory (due Thursday)
· Spelling homework each Monday night
· Book Reports or other projects
· Finish or practice a concept we are learning
· Review for upcoming tests.
·
Fifteen minutes of reading each day at least five days a week.
·
All work must be completed and turned in when due. Ten
points will be deducted
·
Five points will be deducted from a
nameless paper.
·
The children will not exchange items of their
lunch with one another.

When you come to join us you will
be reminded that during the first ten minutes there will be no talking. Quiet voices will be allowed for the
remainder of the time.
Tardies
· Every effort will be made to prepare your child’s make-up work on the day of his/her absence. Please call the office or email me to let me know the approximate time you plan to pick it up. If it is during the school day we will have it in the office area for you.

The teacher will help the student prioritize
the work missed. The student will
then be responsible for turning in the completed work (2X the number of
days missed).

To get the maximum benefit of classroom
instruction and learning it is to your child’s
· Your
child will be given credit for a well-written journal of your vacation. More credit will be given if it includes some
math story problems, geography and history facts.

Lesson Plans are guidelines that are subject to change—life in
the classroom with fourth graders is dynamic and fun. J (I will try to update changes.)

The children will be seated in the
hall at 2:55 p.m. to quietly wait for their carpool number to be called.
·
Teachers will be on patrol in the hall and outdoors to expedite the
2:55-3:15 pick-up. Any parent who needs
to speak to one of them during this time will be asked to go to the teacher’s
classroom until she/he is available.
·
Carpool is over at 3:15. All
children who have not been picked up by this time will be brought to our
school’s day care.
·
The staff will not be on duty until
7:40. If your child is at school earlier
than this and is not attended by a responsible adult, he/she will be sent to
day care.
·
ALL STUDENTS will be requested to sit against the wall in the
hall. No standing and moving about
unless absolutely necessary.
