Core Objectives

1. Academic Excellence WCA will provide a college preparatory environment encouraging all students to achieve their highest academic potential and to become critically thinking, lifelong learners.

WCA will:
  • Provide a comprehensive liberal arts program, including a full spectrum of math and sciences.
  • Offer a selection of advanced placement classes.

  • Students will:
  • Perform at or above the 85th percentile of standardized national test scores. This includes foreign languages.
  • Participate in competitions at the local, regional, and national levels.
  • Receive a high level of scholarship offers.
  • Compete nationally for college acceptance.

  • 2. Biblical Emphasis WCA faculty and staff will nurture a Christian worldview as the foundation for all aspects of academic and personal life.

  • Bible classes will be part of the core curriculum at the middle and high school level. These classes will be taught by North American Presbyterian and Reformed Council (NAPARC) ordained Bible instructors.
  • Westminster Catechism will be taught at most grade levels.
  • A strong preference will exist for all school leadership to embrace the reformed theological tradition.
  • All faculty, students, and staff interactions will be governed by Biblical principles.

  • 3. Financially Accessible As a ministry of Westminster Presbyterian Church, the goal is to make Christian education accessible to all Christian families within the greater metropolitan area.
  • Tuition should be no more than 12% of the median household income for Madison County.
  • Tuition fees should be competitive with comparable schools in the metropolitan area.
  • Increased tuition and fees should be stable and predictable. This will allow families and the school the requisite information to budget.
  • Ten percent of the annual budget should be allocated for non-faculty scholarships.

  • 4. Preparing Leaders WCA will prepare tomorrow's leaders to serve their church, home, and community in the biblical tradition.
  • Programs and curricula will be developed in debate, rhetoric, and writing.
  • Student leadership will be encouraged through local and civic organizations, both on and off campus.
  • Westminster Leadership Academy will be offered to students grades 8 through 12.

  • 5. Church Based WCA is a ministry of Westminster Presbyterian Church (WPC), a reformed Presbyterian congregation with oversight by the church elders.
