119 - Shane Nelson. Shane opened the day with a very experienced

wrestler from Ft. Payne (I have been coaching against the boy for the past 4 years)

and then ran into another tough opponent in his 2nd match. He finished the day 0-2 but wrestled tough in both bouts.

145 - Charlie Nelson. Charlie had to wrestle up a weight class this Saturday after weighing in

over 137 lbs so he was giving up 8 pounds when he opened his day with the eventual 2nd place finisher.

He wrestled hard but was pinned late in the 1st. In the process,

he pulled a muscle in his neck and was unable to wrestle his 2nd match.

165 - Grant Romine. Grant had a rather unusual bracket Saturday. He started his day with 2 byes,

which moved him to the semi finals before he had even wrestled a match.

When Grant finally did step on the mat, he destroyed his 1st opponent, pinning him in under 45 seconds.

Grant's match in the finals was a battle from the start with Grant getting behind early only to execute an

excellent reversal that took his opponent straight to his back. Unfortunately for Grant, he was unable to

finish his opponent right then and ended up losing on points to take 2nd place.

175 - Austin Cooper. Austin stepped on the mat for the 1st time this weekend and learned

very quickly why wrestling is known as the worlds toughest sport.

While he was unable to win a match, Austin did show immediate improvement between

his 1st and 2nd matches. With more practice and mat time, it won't be long until Austin scores his 1st victory.
