WINTER 2007-2008 Concessions/Gate Duty Schedule

Please keep in mind of any changes in the schedule

due to circumstances beyond our control.

Success would not have been possible without the generous

support of parents – financial, physical and prayer support.

Your help is needed:

  • Take money for parking at football games

  • Sell concessions

  • Take gate money

  • Help in cleaning our facilities after games

Parents of Winter Athletes,

It takes a lot of help and a lot of effort to pull off home games!!  I really appreciate all the work our WCA parents do on home game nights!!!  OUR KIDS AND COACHES COULD NOT DO IT WITHOUT YOU!!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

The link above has a copy of the concessions/gate/clean up schedule for the 2007-2008 Basketball Season.  All winter sports athletes are on the schedule.  The parents who are working get in free to that night’s games.

We have made every effort to assign each player only 1 REGULAR SEASON night to work.  You will see the player’s last name and first initial listed – i.e. Click (B) for Ben Click.  This means one of his parents has been assigned to work that night.  If you find you have been assigned to more than 1 REGULAR SEASON night, it means you have more than one athlete playing or I have made a mistake.  Please let me know if I have mistakenly scheduled you for more than 1 REGULAR SEASON night per athlete.

Varsity boys and girls parents and 7th Grade boys parents have also been assigned times to work in the various tournaments.  7th Grade boys are scheduled to have a small tournament on Jan. 12.  All those parents are assigned additional times to work that day.  The varsity boys and girls are hosting a Thanksgiving Tournament (2 days) and a Christmas Tournament (3 days).  All those parents have been assigned additional times to work during those tournaments.  I did the best I could to spread the times out evenly.

On regular season nights, each person is scheduled to work the whole night in concessions, gate keeping and clean up.  You will swap around throughout the night.  It can make for a long night, but the idea is that you work only that one night and you are through for the season (unless you also work tournaments).  PLEASE WORK WITH EACH OTHER SO THAT PARENTS ARE ABLE TO SEE THEIR OWN CHILDREN PLAY AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!  I hope the parents that are assigned to a given night would communicate with each other and work this out.

If you are unable to work the time you have been assigned, please contact other parents on your team and try to swap.  Notify me right away when you make the swap (kristn.click@wca-hsv.org).  I want to keep the schedule on line accurate and I need to keep an accurate list of who gets in free to which games.  If you cannot find a person to swap with, you may “buy out” of your duty.  We pay a teenager to take your place.  You may “buy out” for your whole night or just part of it.

  • On 4 game nights          – about 7 hours – buy out is $50
  • On 3 game nights          – about 6 hours – buy out is $45
  • On 2 game nights          – about 4 hours – buy out is $30
  • Varsity Tournaments     – about 5 hours – buy out is $35
  • 7th Grade Tournament – about 3 hours – buy out is $20

Please notice, we have several games at the end of the season which we don’t have workers.  If you would be willing to volunteer for any of those nights, please let me know.  If I don’t get volunteers, I will have to randomly assign folks and I really don’t want to have to do that.
