With a desire to give back to their school, the Alumni Association adopted The WCA Academy Fund as its cause. The Academy Fund closes the gap between tuition income and current needs. It provides tuition assistance to deserving families, as well as new equipment for the school. Their ambitious fundraising goal for 2008 was $30,000. The Academy Fund Banquet is the means to raise that money. Held in January, the banquet features both well-known speakers (Joel Belz, founder and publisher of World Magazine) and prominent alumni (Carol Ann Vaugh, '87, the founding director of the Christian Women’s Leadership Center at Samford University). This year's banquet met its fundraising goal through generous sponsorships and pledges.

The 2009 Academy Fund Banquet will be held on Monday, January 26 at 6:00 p.m. in The Roundhouse of Huntsville's Early Works Museum. Our keynote speaker will be Dr. James Drexler, Professor of Education at Covenant College, Lookout Mountain, Georgia. For more information contact the Advancement Office at 705.8400.
