Worship Syllabus Fall 2007

Westminster Christian Academy

Teacher – Mr. Huston

Course Objectives:  This course is designed to study the Biblical idea of worship by investigating the biblical mandate and model as well as exploring the 7 elements of worship in full

Text Required: NIV Bible

Materials:  Three-ring binder, pen/pencils, paper, etc.   Students will need something to take notes with everyday in class. Note book must be kept up for periodic grading.

Participation:  The fact that we are studying the Word of God, and discussing issues directly pertaining to our faith and world view, participation is expected and highly encouraged.   The classroom will be a place where we seek to build a healthy community of love for God and people in all that we do.

Classroom Discipline:  The rules set forth in the student/ parent handbook are expected to be followed at all times.  In addition to that, I expect students to be focused upon me while I am teaching and upon their classmates when they are speaking.  Disrespect will not be tolerated and is a sign of a self-centered world and life view that we are seeking to combat at WCA.   I will treat students as maturing to adulthood until I have sufficient reason not to.
