Introduce state song project.  Each student will be put into a group with another student.  Each group will write a song about a state in the U.S. to help everyone learn more about our states.  (Capital, State Tree, Rivers, National Parks, Tourist Sites, State Bird, Important People, Culture, History, Etc.)

Using the book discuss the five Geography themes pertaining to North and East Asia.  Homework:  Complete ˝ page current event summary for class presentation tomorrow.

Talk about South American Power Point Projects.  Each student will work in a group with another student.  This project will be on a specific country in South America.  Each group will put together a slide show on these things.  History, culture, climate, population, demographics, religion, maps, entertainment, and food of their particular country. ( We will begin this project in class on Wednesday, September 19th  and will present them at the end of next week) In class we will break down a map of South America including its countries and capitals.

Go over test in class from Friday.  Assign project groups and let partners spend a little time mapping out projects together.
