Course Description:  This course covers basic Mathematics for your everyday life.

Class Behavior: It is expected that students give respectful attention to classroom learning so that all the class can benefit together. Any behavior that takes away from this will be corrected in class and the student will be warned.  If the disruptive behavior continues the teacher will refer to policies in Student handbook.

Students are expected to be in their seats ready to begin when the class bell rings.  The class begins when the bell rings and all social conversation is to stop and students are to use the time while the teacher takes attendance for review.

Student Handbook: Students and parents need to be familiar with the student handbook especially the items that have to do with absences from class (number of days allowed, and admittance policies) and the length of time allowed for make-up work as well as the dress code.

Grading:

Test = 60 percent

Quiz = 20 percent

Homework, Project, and Daily = 20 percent

Materials Needed:  It is expected that students will come to class each day with their textbook, financial workbook, notebook paper and writing materials. Computer access is necessary to get assignments and grades posted on the teacher’s web page.

Communication with Teacher: Please communicate with me via e-mail (there is a link on my web page).  I am happy to answer questions and work with students and parents in this way.  It is wise for parents to ask students about particular assignments before asking me.  Of course, communication with the teacher via e-mail does not take the place of the student listening in class.  Please remember the Matthew 18 principle if any conflict should arise.
