Special Note: The last set of essays (Poetry Analysis), for the most part, showed some real maturity!  I’m very proud of the class.

 

Week of May 5th – 9th:

Poetry Analysis – Choose a poem from your collection or from Mrs. Horn’s.  Look at pages 628-629 in the literature book.  This is a 5 paragraph essay starting.

I.                    Introduction (include poem name and author, major theme and how the other pieces of analysis reach the theme).

II.                 Sound (rhythm, alliteration, rhyme)

III.               Imagery (words that create a feeling of sight, sound or touch)

IV.              Figurative Language (Simile, Metaphor or Personification)

V.                 Conclusion (restate thesis and conclude thoughts)
