Welcome to your sixth grade American history class. It is my hope that you will enjoy learning about our country’s past this year, and that the people and events of the past will come alive for you as we study!
Classroom Expectations:
1. Be in your seat and ready to begin when the bell rings.
2. Bring everything you need for the class with you. You will not be allowed to return to your locker after the bell rings.

Unexcused late work will not be tolerated and will receive a 25-pt. deduction if it is turned in by the next day of school, and a 50-pt. deduction if it is turned in by the following day. Late work will not be accepted after that time, and the grade will be a zero.

Course Description:
The sixth grade history course will focus on a study of American history beginning with the Reconstruction Era and continuing to the present day. Students will be encouraged to learn more than just facts and dates, because a proper understanding of the events of today can only be achieved by understanding where our country has been in the past. Emphasis will also be given to an understanding of God’s hand throughout all of history, including the history of our country.
