Course Description:

This course is designed to help students broaden their horizons and understand events in the world around them.  This is a quarterly course in which students will focus on one theme in the news per week.  We will look at newspapers, Internet news sites, etc., in class and try to find information pertaining to our theme of the week.  We will also make a scrapbook in class which contains news articles about each theme we studied.  The final grade will be based on completion of the scrapbook as well as class participation.
