Basic Algebra II Syllabus

Course Objective:

The objective of this course is to teach students basic algebraic skills and how to use those skills in today's changing world. Students should also gain an understanding of the mathematical order in the world that God created.

1st Quarter

Equations and Inequalities

Linear Relations and Functions

Systems of Equations and Ineqaulties

2nd Quarter

Matrices

Quadratic Functions and Inequalities

Polynomial Functions

3rd Quarter

Radical Equations and Inequalities

Rational Expressions and Equations

Exponential and Logarithmic Functions

4th Quarter

Conic Sections

Series and Sequences

Trigonometric Functions

Materials Needed:

Algebra II Textbook: Geometry , Algebra 2,  Published by Glencoe McGraw-Hill

 

Small three ring binder notebook with paper

 

Pencil

 

Graphing Calculator would be most helpful but scientific calculator required

 

Graph paper

Please note that this class will require each student to work independently.  Students will be expected to be prepared EACH day.  Failure to adequately prepare for class will result in removal from the class.  Instruction will be individualized and independent instruction provided.
